Overview
On behalf of the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA)-West, we invite you to join us for the 42nd Annual LMSA-West Regional Conference* on March 6th-7th, 2026, hosted at the UC Davis School of Medicine.

Join us on Friday, March 6th, for our Policy Summit at the California State Capitol to conduct planned legislative visits with California State representatives and a rally to advocate for issues of immigration policy, DEI, and federal funding for research and higher-education loans. We will also have a Networking Night for faculty, residents, and medical students to meet and socialize on UC Davis School of Medicine's campus.
On Saturday, March 7th, join us for a full day of workshops, seminars, and keynote speakers to gain valuable leadership skills and career development while learning about issues facing the Latinx community.​ We will also have a Research Symposium for pre-medical and medical students to showcase their research, and on Saturday evening, we will have our LMSA West Gala* to honor our fourth-year medical students and the accomplishments of our chapters and members.

Venue & Hotel Location
Conference: Main conference events and Networking Night will take place at the UC Davis School of Medicine campus located at 4610 X St., Sacramento, CA 95817.

Hotel & Gala: We have partnered with Embassy Suites by Hilton Sacramento Riverfront Promenade at 100 Capitol Mall, Sacramento, CA 95814 and the gala will also take place at this wonderful hotel!

Rate: $252 for all 2-room suites per night (based on single or double occupancy)

Policy Summit at the California State Capitol
​
​
Legislative Visits (9am-12pm):
We will conduct planned legislative visits with California State representatives to discuss key issues affecting our communities, including:
Immigration policy and ICE
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in higher education
Federal funding for scientific research and higher-education loans
​
Participants will be grouped and given time to review talking points prior to the conference and practice before meeting with representatives.
​
Rally (1pm-3pm):
We will hold a rally to advocate for these issues and raise awareness alongside students, allies, and community partners.

We are accepting poster abstracts to present from pre-medical and medical students until Sunday, January 25, 2026.​

Gala & Closing Ceremony​
This year's Gala theme is "La Vida es Un Carnival," so bring your best outfit and dancing shoes! The gala will take place at the Embassy Suites by Hilton Sacramento Riverfront Promenade.

If you are a graduating senior, and interested in receiving an LMSA branded serape for graduation, please use the button below to order a serape. If you signed up for a 4 year membership, you will receive your stole FREE of charge. If you do not have a 4 year membership, the cost will be $45
Serapes will be distributed at our 2026 conference gala. If you are unable to attend, they will be delivered to your school's MSR for distribution.

Every year, each chapter submits award winners for the LMSA-West Chapter Awards that are presented at the LMSA-West Graduating Senior Gala on Feb 7th. In order to recognize outstanding recipients from our chapter, we need you to submit selected recipients for each award category by Jan 26, 2026. Please only fill out 1 form per chapter.
